CALL FOR PAPERS FOR THE 30TH ANNUAL LARVAL FISH CONFERENCE (posted 7 January 2006) |
 |
 |
The 30th Annual Larval Fish Conference (LFC) will be held in conjunction with the Annual Meeting of the American Fisheries Society in Lake Placid, New York. CLICK HERE for information about the AFS conference.
The LFC will be held at the Lake Placid Hilton, which is about a 10 minute walk from the hotel at which the main AFS meeting is being held. For information about this hotel, CLICK HERE.
The dates of the AFS meeting (and the LFC) are 10-14 September 2006.
Our goal is to accommodate all papers. Owing to the circumstances, there will be no special theme sessions, but we will try to group presentations by subject content. We are encouraging any contribution that focuses on the early life history stages of fishes.
The LFC will be organized within the AFS conference as a Symposium, which requires that abstracts be submitted to the AFS Symposium call (open from mid-February to early March 2006) and NOT the Contributed Session call.
Since LFC2006 is a Symposium within the AFS meeting, submitting an abstract to the LFC is a three step process, outlined below.
To give a presentation at LFC2006, please proceed as follows:

LFC2006 WILL NOT BE IN NEW ORLEANS (posted December 2005) |
 |
 |
Following from the devastation caused by hurricanes Katrina and Rita, LFC2006 will not be held 12 - 17 July 2006 in New Orleans, Louisiana, USA. Bruce Comyns, who was to host the conference, is well but faces the immediate challenge of rebuilding his laboratory and home.
Under these unusual circumstances, The American Fisheries Society has graciously agreed to allow the Larval Fish Conference to meet in conjunction with their annual meeting 10-14 September 2006 in Lake Placid, New York, USA. |
