Poster and oral presentation guidelines
The dimensions for posters should not exceed 36 inches in height and 42 inches in width (36” H × 42” W).
We will have poster easels with poster boards and pushpins, so presenters only need to bring their posters with them. The posters will be set up in room C of the Coastline Conference & Event Center. This room is directly adjacent to the room where the technical sessions will be held and will also serve to host the technical session coffee breaks, allowing ample opportunity for viewing of posters by attendees. Posters can be displayed beginning Monday morning and will remain on display throughout the conference. The poster easels will be labeled with the name of the first author of each poster and arranged in the room alphabetically by last name. Members of the local organizing committee as well as student volunteers will be there to provide any needed assistance. We also have a dedicated poster session planned for Tuesday (May 24th) afternoon from 3-5pm. Presenters should plan to stand next to their poster during this session to enable interactions with conference attendees and student poster judges. Presenters should plan to retrieve their posters by noon on Thursday.
Presenters should plan for 15 minute talks with 5 minutes for questions (total time slot length = 20 minutes). We plan to complete all of the student presentations by Wednesday so we can present the student paper and poster awards during the banquet Wednesday evening. We will have a laptop PC and a high-resolution projector available; presenters should use Microsoft Powerpoint and bring their talks in electronic format (e.g., stored on a flash drive or CD). Presenters will not be allowed to use their own laptop computers, so please make sure that your presentation runs as intended on a computer other than your own (especially MAC users). Presenters should plan to arrive early the day of their talk to ensure sufficient time to load their presentations on the laptop provided.
